Complete is pleased to announce the resolution of the Amarillo School District 2013 hail claim. An agreement of $42M was reached between the school district and the insurer. This agreement was the result of hard work by the appraisal panel, the school district, the insurer and their counsel. John Minor was the appraiser for the district, working out the differences between the parties. John employed certified consulting meteorologists, engineers and drone-mounted thermography to understand the damages to the district’s 5.1 million square foot of schools.
AISD is one of the largest districts in Texas, providing quality education and a caring environment to over 35,000 students on the Caprock in the panhandle. The school district’s more than 3k in faculty, administration and maintenance were the true heroes in this process. On May 2, 2019, the Amarillo Independent School District Board of Trustees approved the settlement of its lawsuit versus the Travelers Lloyds Insurance Company, Case No. 2:15-cv-00155-j in the Norther District of Texas-Amarillo Division. The acceptance of the Settlement Agreement, Travelers Lloyds will pay the Amarillo Independent School District a total of $42 million.
