This residence, which was part of a townhouse complex near the Florabama Restaurant on Perdido Key, suffered extensive damage from Hurricane Ivan in 2004. Owner Janet Lambert hired Complete, Inc. to manage the insurance claim and the restoration work. The claim amount initially was very limited. After a meeting with the Insurer, compliments of the Florida Dept of Financial services – Hurricane Mediation Program, a number was established that was agreeable to all.
I highly recommend this program to all Floridians that have their facts together as typically you will find experienced and competent adjusters and appraisers on the other side of the table willing to listen. The State of Florida should be commended for this program that helped has thousands receive a fair number. Not more than what was deserved but not less.
The negotiations with the insurance company took a bit longer than expected but once in order we began work. Complete removed the entire exterior including non-compliant drywall construction. We replaced it with block reinforced steel stud construction, laminated glass and doors, new roof, and new flashing. New upgraded interior features included new floor coverings, new cabinets, new fireplace and more.
