Complete, Inc. was invited to this home in Eastern NC in the fall of 2000. The property had suffered wind damage after the many storms over the early 90’s. Complete, Inc. was hired by the owners Mr. and Mrs. Lynwood Allen after being recommended by their insurance company as a fair and conscientious general contractor. We were asked to restore their roof to it’s original installation using old world roofing techniques. Complete, Inc. worked within the confines of the insurance company adjustment to the satisfaction of the adjuster and the delight of the owner.
The home had been built in the early 1900’s with the use of a Victorian metal shingle. This shingle has a stamped design on the front and can be found in many colors that reflect the historic nature of the material. We replaced the entire roof and eliminated the built-in gutter system. Complete, Inc. designed an alternative water management system using a built up insulation system and flat roof materials sloped to custom copper leaders. We replaced the flashings and chimney cap with fabricated copper.
The job was completed on time and on budget with our local crew and the personal management of John G. Minor. Complete, Inc. received a letter of appreciation from the owner and made a friend in Four Oaks. We have since returned for uninsured repairs and have received many phone calls from others in the historical district. The property owner and large loss adjuster are both available to discuss the project upon request.
